The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 and guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
