The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
