And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He answered: "A short while, and they shall be repenting." 40 And then the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them, justly and unavoidably, and We caused them to become as the flotsam of dead leaves and the scum borne on the surface of a torrent: and so - away with those evildoing folk! 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
