Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
