And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
