Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated ground, sequestered, watered by a spring. 50

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
