Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
