O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
