Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
