Al-Mu' minoon 5 of 6
It is He who gave you hearing, sight, and hearts, but only few of you give thanks. 78 He it is who has multiplied you on the earth and to Him you shall all be gathered: 79 And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand? 80 And talk as did the people of old. 81 They say: When we are dead and have become (mere) dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again? 82 Assuredly this we have been promised - we and our fathers - aforetime: naught is this but the fables of the ancients. 83 Say: "To whom does the earth and whosoever is upon it then belong, if you know?" 84 They will say, "To God." Say, "So will you not pay heed? 85 Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?" 86 They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)? 87 Say: 'In whose hand is the dominion of everything, protecting and Himself unprotected, if you have knowledge?' 88 Thereupon they will say, “Such greatness is only that of Allah”; say, “Then by what magic are you deceived?” 89 We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood! 90 God has not taken to Himself a son, nor is there any other deity besides Him; otherwise, each god would have walked away with what he had created. They would surely have tried to overcome one another. Glory be to God, above all that they ascribe to Him. 91 (He is) the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, High Exalted be He above that they associate. 92

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
