Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." 94 [Pray thus] for, behold, We are most certainly able to let thee witness [the fulfillment, even in this world, of] whatever We promise them! 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 Say: "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil promptings of the devils. 97 and I seek refuge with Thee, O my Sustainer, lest they come near unto me!" 98 lt ceaseth not until when death cometh to one of them, and he saith: my Lord! send me back. 99 so that I may do good works in the world I have left behind." Never! It is indeed but a meaningless word that he utters. A barrier shall stand behind such people till the Day they are raised up again. 100 And then no sooner the Trumpet is blown than there will remain no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask one another. 101 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation: 102 But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces, and therein they shall be grinning. 104 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy; 109 “So you took them for a mockery until your mocking at them made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them!” 110 I have rewarded them this Day for their steadfastness, and it is they who have triumphed." 111 Then Allah will ask them: "For how many years did you stay on earth?" 112 They will say: "A day or less than a day. Ask the enumerators of numbers." 113 He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known. 114 Deem ye that We have created you in vain and that unto Us ye are not to be returned? 115 So exalted is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne. 116 One who worships things besides God has no proof of the authority of such things. God is certainly keeping the record of his deeds. The unbelievers will not have everlasting happiness. 117 Hence, [O believer,] say: "O my Sustainer! Grant [me] forgiveness and bestow Thy mercy [upon me]: for Thou art the truest bestower of mercy!" 118
