۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! 22 And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks). 25 The real Kingdom on that Day will belong only to the Merciful, and it will be a very hard Day for the disbelievers. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend! 28 Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. 29 And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned." 30 Even so We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy among the sinners; but thy Lord suffices as a guide and as a helper. 31 And those who disbelieve say: Why has not the Quran been revealed to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart by it and We have arranged it well in arranging. 32 and [that] they [who deny the truth] might never taunt thee with any deceptive half-truth without Our conveying to thee the [full] truth and [providing thee] with the best explanation. 33 (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. 34
