۞ Those who do not expect a meeting with Us say, "Why are angels not sent down to us?" Or "Why do we not see our Lord?" Surely, they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded all bounds. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 We shall advance upon what work they have done, and make it a scattered dust. 23 The inhabitants of the Garden will have the best residence and the finest lodging on that Day. 24 On that Day, the heaven is split asunder with clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 true sovereignty on that Day will belong to the Gracious One, and it will be a hard Day for those who deny the truth. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 Ah! woe unto me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 “He indeed led me astray from the advice that had come to me”; and Satan deserts man, leaving him unaided. 29 The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," 30 thus did We assign to every prophet an enemy from among the sinners; your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper. 31 The unbelievers say, 'Why has the Koran not been sent down upon him all at once?' Even so, that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have chanted it very distinctly. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. 34
