Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens the shadows? Had He pleased, He could have made them constant; then We placed the sun as an indicator for them, 45 thereafter We seize it to Ourselves, drawing it gently. 46 And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again. 47 And it is He Who sent the winds giving glad tidings before His mercy; and We sent down purifying water from the sky. 48 so that We may bring dead land to life thereby, and give to drink thereof to many [beings] of Our creation, beasts as well as humans. 49 And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief. 50 If We had so wished, We might have sent a warner into every town, 51 So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour. 52 ۞ AND HE it is who has given freedom of movement to the two great bodies of water - the one sweet and thirst-allaying, and the other salty and bitter - and yet has wrought between them a barrier and a forbidding ban. 53 And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He will. 54 But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan]. 55 And We sent thee but as a bearer of glad tidings and warner. 56 Say thou: I ask of you no hire for this, save that whosoever will may take unto his Lord a way. 57 And trust thou in the Living One Who dieth not, and hymn His praise. He sufficeth as the Knower of His bondmen's sins, 58 The One Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days, then befitting His Majesty, established Himself upon the Throne (of control); the Most Gracious – therefore ask the one who knows, concerning Him! 59 And when it is said to them: Prostrate to the Beneficent Allah, they say: And what is the Allah of beneficence? Shall we prostrate to what you bid us? And it adds to their aversion. ۩ 60
