Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
