Exalted is He who put constellations in the heavens, a radiant lamp and an illuminating moon -- 61 And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude. 62 The (true) servants of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth who, when the ignorant people behave insolently towards them, say, "Peace to you" 63 Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing; 64 And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily! Its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment." 65 evil it is as a lodging-place and an abode'; 66 Who are neither prodigal nor miserly in their spending but follow a middle path; 67 And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty; 68 and his torment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall abide in a state of ignominy, 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 and seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does what is right has truly turned unto God by [this very act of] repentance. 71 Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); 72 who do not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the signs of their Lord when they are reminded of them; 73 And those who say: our Lord bestow on us coolness of eyes from our wives and our offspring, and make us unto the God-fearing a pattern. 74 These shall be rewarded with high places because they were patient, and shall be met therein with greetings and salutations. 75 And abide there for ever: What an excellent destination and abode! 76 Say: My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer; but you have indeed rejected (the truth), so that which shall cleave shall come. 77
