And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
