(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
