Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
