Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
