And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
