And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 You and your fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
