And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
