And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
