Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 'Indeed, I fear for you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This has been happening all along. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
