(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) 141 when their brother Salih said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 142 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 143 So fear God and follow me. 144 And I ask of you no hire therefor; MY hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 In gardens and watersprings. 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; 149 Fear Allah and obey me 150 “And do not follow those who exceed the limits.” 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 They said, "You are only bewitched and insane. 153 You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. 155 “And do not touch her with evil intentions for the punishment of the Great Day will seize you.” 156 But they hamstrung her and so became regretful. 157 The punishment therefore seized them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 158 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
