The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
