The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
