The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
