Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
