The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
