The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
