The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
