1/4 Hizb 38
< random >
The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
