The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
