This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
