And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
Almighty God's Truth.
