Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
