People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
