And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
