And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
