And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
