Those who deny the truth say, "When we have turned to dust like our fathers, shall we be brought back to life again? 67 "It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients." 68 Say: "Go all over the earth and behold what happened in the end to those [who were thus] lost in sin!" 69 And grieve thou not for them, nor be in distress because of what they plot (against thee). 70 They ask, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say be true?" 71 Say, "It may be that a part of what you would hasten on is close behind you." 72 Indeed Your Lord is exceedingly bountiful to mankind. Yet most of them do not give thanks. 73 The Lord knows full well what they conceal in their hearts and what they disclose: 74 And naught there is hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a Manifest Book. 75 Indeed this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing. 78 So put thy trust in God; thou art upon the manifest truth. 79 Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. 80 Nor canst thou lead the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear, save those who believe Our revelations and who have surrendered. 81 ۞ And when the Word falls on them, We will bring out from the earth a beast that shall speak to them: 'Indeed the people were not certain of Our verses.' 82
