The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Bethink men that they shall be left alone because they say: we believe; and that they shall not be tempted? 2 We indeed tested those before them – so Allah will surely test the truthful, and will surely test the liars. 3 Do the evil-doers suppose that they will get the better of Us? How evil is their judgement! 4 Whosoever hopeth for the meeting with Allah, then Allah's term is surely coming, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 He who strives, strives for himself. Allah is the Rich, independent of the worlds. 6 We shall pardon the sinful deeds of those who believe and do the right, and give them a reward better than their deeds. 7 We have enjoined on man to be good to his parents; but if they try to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. You have to come back to Us, when I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. 11 Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars. 12 They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads along with their loads, and upon the Day of Resurrection they shall surely be questioned concerning that they were forging. 13
