The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 Do men think they will get away by saying: "We believe," and will not be tried? 2 But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. 3 Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! 4 He who hopes to meet God should know that God's appointed hour is sure to come. He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 And whoever strives, strives only for himself, God is independent of all His creation, 6 We shall pardon the sinful deeds of those who believe and do the right, and give them a reward better than their deeds. 7 We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do. 8 And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. 9 Among people there are some who say: “We believe in Allah.” But when such a person is made to endure suffering in Allah's cause, he reckons the persecution he suffers at the hands of people as though it is a chastisement from Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, the same person will say “We were with you.” Does Allah not know whatever is in the hearts of the people of the world? 10 God certainly knows all about the believers and the hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers, 'Follow our path, and let us carry your offences'; yet they cannot carry anything, even of their own offences; they are truly liars. 12 They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads along with their loads, and upon the Day of Resurrection they shall surely be questioned concerning that they were forging. 13
