In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Alif Lam Mim 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 [All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! 11
