O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful. 59 ۞ If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbours in it but a little while. 60 bereft of God's grace, they shall be seized wherever they may be found, and slain one and all. 61 This was the tradition of God with those who lived before. There will never be any change in the tradition of God. 62 People ask thee ccncerning the Hour. Say thou: the knowledge thereof is only with Allah: and what knowest thou! belike the Hour is nigh. 63 Verily God has cursed the infidels, and prepared a blazing fire for them. 64 Wherein they will abide for ever. They will find (then) no protecting friend nor helper. 65 The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet." 66 They shall say, "Our Lord, we paid heed to our leaders and our elders, but they led us away from the right path. 67 Our Lord! give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!" 68
