۞ Say to them, (O Prophet): “I give you but one counsel: stand up (for heaven's sake), singly and in pairs, and then think: what is it in your companion (to wit, Muhammad) that could be deemed as madness?” He is nothing but a warner, warning you before the coming of a grevious chastisement. 46 Say: Whatever reward I might have asked of you is yours. My reward is the affair of Allah only. He is Witness over all things. 47 Say: 'My Lord hurls the truth -- the Knower of the Unseen.' 48 Say: The truth has come, and the falsehood shall vanish and shall not come back. 49 Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near." 50 Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand, 51 And then they will say: we believe therein. But whence can there be the attainment of faith from a place so afar. 52 They disbelieved in it before and indulged in conjectures from far away. 53 And so, a barrier will be set between them and all that they had [ever] desired, as will be done to such of their kind as lived before their time: for, behold, they [too] were lost in doubt amounting to suspicion. 54
