And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
