The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
